Chapter Nineteen

"I don't want to stop. I want you, Nick. All of you."

Those words were his undoing. His mouth was instantly on hers again. When he lifted her under her legs, she wrapped them around him, and without breaking their kiss, he carried her up to his bedroom, kicking the door closed behind him.

Nick gently lowered her to the floor, and when their lips parted, he searched her face. "Are you sure?"

She smiled. "For a detective, you really don't pick up on all the signs, do you?"

He groaned. "Do you have any idea how much that smart mouth of yours turns me on?"

"Show me."

He flipped them around so that her back was against the door. "Take your hair down," he ordered.

Her eyes darkened. She liked his demand. Never taking her gaze off him, she pulled her hair free and it swung around her shoulders. Then his fingers wove through it as his mouth crushed down on hers.

Lauren ran her palms under his T-shirt and up his back. “Take this off,” she said against his lips, and he grabbed the hem and yanked it off, tossing it to the floor. Her eyes roamed his chest, and his heart beat faster at her appreciative gaze.

"I've been wanting to touch you in this sweater all day." He leaned in and kissed a trail up her neck while his hand moved under her sweater until he cupped her breast. His thumb lightly stroked her pebbled nipple through her bra.

She moaned and he stroked harder as she raked her nails down his back and found the top of his jeans. When she went to unbutton them, he stopped her. “Wait. We’re focusing on you first.”

He pulled her sweater up and she took the hint and finished removing it. At the sight of her black lacy bra, he nearly swallowed his tongue. And when she slowly undid the button of her pants and tugged them off, he had to adjust himself. Her creamy skin against the black lace was sexy as hell. But then another thought struck him.

"Lauren, did you wear lacy black underwear to meet my parents?"

She eased toward him again. "Do you really want to talk about your parents right now?" But before he could answer, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him hard.

Grabbing her ass, he picked her up and she threw her legs around him. He took a few steps forward and placed her on the bed, his lips traveling down her neck while his fingers quickly unhooked her bra. Thank God for front clasps. Taking a nipple into his mouth, he flicked one and then the other as she groaned.

"Nick, I need to touch you. Please take off your clothes."

"Soon." He unbuttoned the top of his jeans to provide some relief. Seeing her on his bed had made him painfully hard.

Skimming his hand up her thigh, he found his way to those lacy panties. Damn, they were soaked through. "You're so wet for me." He lightly traced his fingers over the damp fabric, teasing her.
